DESCRIPTION:An Awards Gala is planned for November 17th at the Nationa
 l Academy of Sciences with noted comedian and American icon Bill Cosby
  as Keynote Speaker.  Five organizations and one individual will recei
 ve the Banneker Legacy Award for their contributions to increasing the
  number of African Americans involved in STEM related fields of study 
 and professions.  This Black Tie evening will celebrate the spirit of 
 Black Scientists from slavery through the modern era into the future\,
  and will include a dinner preceding the Awards Ceremony\, and a Deser
 t & Jazz Reception following.  Dinner tickets are $250 including the A
 wards Ceremony and the Desert & Jazz Reception.  Tickets to the Awards
  Ceremony are $70 including the Desert & Jazz Reception.
