D.C. Youth Environmental Alliance Youth Summit

by Owens Pharis last modified 2009-07-15 14:25

The National Environmental Education Foundation has asked us to forward this information to you and ask you to notify your students of this opportunity. On March 14th, high school students from across D.C. will come together to tackle the single greatest challenges facing their generation: climate change and environmental degradation.

The D.C. Youth Summit, a project of the D.C. Youth Environmental Alliance, will
empower local high school students to get involved in making their schools and
communities greener - and will serve as the inaugural meeting of an environmental
high school student network.

At the Summit, students will gain the tools and skills needed to organize school clubs,
promote sustainability in their schools and communities, and learn about the pressing
environmental challenges facing the District and world. Just as important, the Summit
will encourage a diverse assemblage of students from all backgrounds - and all quarters
of D.C. - to unite and work together.
