Universities around the nation have programs that are designed to help students who are not quite up to par with the majority of the university population but have exhibited potential to succeed academically. Selected by the admissions office, these students are enrolled in a summer bridge program that will provide them with all the tools they need to be successful all the collegiate level. Some universities such as the University of the District of Columbia specialize the program to different fields of study, including the sciences.
