Southern California Edison - DC Office

An Internship position is available in the Washington, DC office of Southern California Edison for the fall semester. Southern California Edison's College Program is designed to give students an opportunity to exercise classroom knowledge in a real world work environment. Compensation is available.


Qualifications:

  • Career paths in political science, business administration, public administration, law, engineering, mathematics, and communications
  • Competent skills in writing, communication and oral presentation
  • Knowledge and skills in operation of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to research on Internet and other on-line programs as directed
  • Excellent telephone skills, professional etiquette and friendly manner

Job Description:

  • Research legislative and regulatory issues related to electric utility industry
  • Attend or monitor congressional hearings and federal regulatory meetings
  • Assist with clerical support such as: typing reports, answering telephones, meeting setups, faxing, copying, mail retrieval and other routine office tasks as directed
  • Hand deliver documents to Capitol Hill and/or federal agencies
